Modern Combat VERSUS | Stage No. 2-3-4 | Gameloft Games | Action Game | The Gamer
French gaming company Gameloft is back with a new game in the popular first person shooter Modern Combat series. It is called Modern Combat Versus and is available as a free download with in-app purchases on both Google Play Store and Apple App store. It is an online game and requires an active internet connection to run.
Modern Combat Versus is an arena-based multiplayer game set in a futuristic world. Users get to control twelve unique fighters called agents. Each look different and have some skills. A user has to upgrade them regularly to make them competitive and at par with the enemy. This is where in-app purchases come in. The basic agent cost 100 coins, while the most superior agents are priced at 46,000 coins. You can get the coins by playing or in the in-game shop by paying anywhere between Rs 10 to Rs 6,200.
There is no career mode or missions based on historical events, like the earlier games in the series. The gameplay is quite similar to Counter Strike, a popular FPS for PCs. Users can join other players to create and team and take on rivals teams in simple challenges. The objective is always the same — to eliminate all enemy soldiers, but the backdrop changes with every game. Overall, the visuals look richer than Modern Combat 5 and this explains the game’s larger footprint. It takes up about 1.8GB of space after installation, which is 800MB more than the predecessor.
The game offers more advanced and user-friendly controls. Players can shoot at automatically by aiming at the enemy or go with the manual shoot option. New control such as double tapping on the right side of the screen to activate the zoom-in view feels more intuitive than finding and tapping the dedicated button. To ensure you don’t lose your way, the game offers a virtual line which shows direction in which the rest of the team members are headed. The virtual joystick which control player movements is not fixed. It can be accessed by taping on anywhere on the left side of the screen. Overall, this is one of the best first person shooter games around in terms of controls. The simple gameplay makes it ideal for casual gamers who are not into games with a complex plot.
